Grade 2 Sequence of Events
GINGERBREAD PEOPLE RECIPE:

Ingredients:
½ cup soft butter
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup dark molasses
1/3 cup water
1 egg
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
decorations for your gingerbread people

Directions:
1. Mix the butter and the sugar in a bowl until creamy.
2. Add the molasses, water, and egg and mix together.
3. Stir in the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and
cloves.
4. Mix well.
5. Cover the dough and put it in the refrigerator for two
hours.
6. Roll the dough out with a rolling pin and cut with
gingerbread people cookie cutters.
7. Bake them on a cookie sheet for 12 to 15 minutes. Let
them cool.
8. Decorate your gingerbread people and eat them!
