Kinetic Energy or Potential Energy?

Instructions: Potential energy is energy based on position. It is stored energy that has the potential to do work. A roller coaster car at the top of a hill has potential energy because it is high above the ground.

Kinetic energy is energy of motion. Any object in motion has kinetic energy. A soccer ball rolling on the ground has kinetic energy because it is moving.

Decide if each picture best shows an example of potential energy or kinetic energy.
