Types of Conflict

Types of Conflict

Nearly every story that you read contains some sort of struggle or problem that must be solved.

This struggle in the story is called CONFLICT.

Conflict is a key part of a story. It's what drives the story and helps keep the plot moving along.

Conflict can take many forms. Sometimes it exists between characters. Other times it appears in the form of obstacles or emotions a character faces.

The conflict in a story can be INTERNAL or EXTERNAL. Internal conflict takes place within the character. External conflict takes place with other people or outside forces.

In addition to being internal or external, there are six key types of conflict in a story. Watch the video to learn about the types of conflict.
