Circumference of a Circle

Circumference of a Circle

Circle Introduction: Circumference is the distance around a circle. You can think of circumference as the perimeter of a circle. The tricky part is how to accurately measure a curved shape. To do so, you must use the irrational number pi (π). Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

Circumference Formulas
  • C=2πr, where r is the radius
  • C=πd, where d is the diameter (d=2r)
