Imagine you just had a water fight with a friend. You tell your mom that your friend dropped a bucketful of water on your head. The word bucketful contains the suffix -ful.

A suffix is a group of letters that is added to the end of a word. A suffix changes the meaning of the word.

The suffix -ful means full of. For example, if a person is hopeful, then he or she is full of hope.
